First – Different – Unique

Studying at #IMDLausanne is what I call a mind-blowing experience from the very few that impacts unequivocally the way we think. We enter smart, we exit wise. One of the many highlights at campus was the live interaction with Mr. He-did-it-again and one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Switzerland, Jean-Claude Biver. I took quite a few notes while mr. Biver was answering the audience’s questions and im happy to group and share them as follows:

 • On values: Come up with a set of values and let people be creative

 • On value proposition: We don’t sell accuracy, we sell ART

 • On customers: I go where the customer goes, I belong to his lifestyle

 • On branding: I only serve the brand, because it will outlive me

 • On ego: If you want to be successful, take ego away

 • On people: every single person surrounding you must be smarter than yourself

 • On team: when you have a good team you don’t need meetings, you speak with the eyes

 • On inspiring people: respect people beyond rules, share successes and mistakes, forgive

 • On keep-going: Passion and Courage to go wrong

 • On life: I have never made a distinction between my work and private life. Same ethics and principles apply to both of them

 • His Mantra: Be first, be different, be unique
